Whistler Cocktails with a View

Whistler Cocktails with a View

Say “Whistler” to people of a certain age, and their memory clocks will spin back to the days when “Cocktails in Whistler” meant either sitting in one of the trailers that housed the original Dusty’s at Creekside or driving north to The Boot, a pub in the hostel at the other end of town.

There was a time when drinking in Whistler meant hanging out inside and not taking advantage of the spectacular views. Today, Whistler offers some of the most beautiful locations in the world, where visitors can sit back, relax, enjoy a top-notch cocktail and take in the natural surroundings.

Discover five favourite Whistler waterholes with great views!

CREEKSIDE

Located in The Nita Lake Lodge, this waterfront hotel has a beautiful lakeside lounge. With a fireplace to add warmth to its dark wood-and-leather ambience, Cure Lounge & Patio has added foodie appeal with a menu dedicated to Old World charcuterie.

Dusty’s

The dark days are over for this Whistler stalwart. Out of the trailer and into the light, Dusty’s Bar has now taken advantage of its location by creating one of the sunniest patios in Whistler.

VILLAGE

The Longhorn

On a sunny ski day, getting a good seat on the patio is a challenge worth undertaking. Lively and convivial, The Longhorn has good pub grub, a wide selection of bottled and on tap beers, as well as daily specials and a great view of Blackcomb.

UPPER VILLAGE

The Mallard

Large, open lounge space in the Chateau Fairmont with its windows looking onto the foot of Blackcomb Mountain, with a central bar, awesome servers and a baby grand in the centre of the room. The Mallard Bar is old-school luxury. Bonus: They will most likely have the obscure scotch you order. Bonus: Live entertainment.

5280 Bar & Bistro

A ‘leather and oak establishment old club’ feel at Four Seasons’ Whistler location, 5280 Bar & Bistro married “gentleman’s club” with modern West Coast construction. The Four Seasons is renowned for stellar service, and this Upper Village destination lounge is no exception. Enjoy Blackcomb along with your handcrafted cocktail.
